November 2009 - New Access Control Turnstiles for St George’s, University of London

The latest information about Telepen and Data Capture

Telepen is pleased to announce the successful introduction of new barriers to the St George’s, University of London entrance.

The library previously had manual mechanical turnstiles and these have been replaced with motorised glass wing barriers that give a more attractive and welcoming appearance and greater ease of use.

Barcode readers have been integrated to allow for compatibility with both their staff and students, as well as their external NHS visitors. Adjacent Book Detection Lanes inhibit the exit barriers when a sensitised book is detected. The barriers link up with the Telepen Sentry Access Control System and includes the unique Visitor Display facility.

St George’s is an academic and clinical hub based in Tooting that serves South West London and beyond. Sharing a site with St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, one of the UIL busiest hospitals, the institution is a member of the federation of world-renowned colleges that make up the University of London.
