Codeco's MARK7 automatic library machine creates a quite new, dynamic perspective for self-service. The built-in capacities of the Mark7 permit easy and fast registration of items which the patron wants to borrow or return. The Mark7 is simple to use, robust in construction, and ergonomically attractive, and is compatible with both electro-magnetic and RFID book security systems.

The automatic library machine consists of a cabinet, the design of which enables all electronics to be built into the tabletop of the cabinet, a big 15" color screen which guides the patron through the entire registration process with clear, unambiguous illustrations for each action to be carried out, and a robust keyboard arrangement.

Self Issue
The patron places their card in the card reader which is located straight in front of the screen. After that, the PIN-code is entered. If the patron is confirmed, the Mark7 will allow registration of items. When all items have been registered one by one, the lending process is terminated by removing the patrons card. Finally, a receipt for the items borrowed is automatically printed.

Self Return
Returning of items can take place without the patrons card and PIN-code. The system is from the start aware of who has borrowed the items in question. The patron returns the items one by one. The Mark7 is able to guide the borrower in sorting, so that any reserved return items are sorted out from all the other items. This feature is of great assistance to the library staff in their further handling of the items.

If the patron requires a receipt upon finalised registration of returned items, the "RECEIPT" key is pressed, and a receipt for the return is printed. The patron can also get a print of the loan status for items borrowed.

The Cabinet
The MARK7 cabinet is delivered in it's standard color, anthracite. However, it can also be delivered in special colors upon request. We can also offer to mount and install the self-service electronics in the library's own furniture, if preferred.

System Integration
The Mark7 works with most electro-magnetic book security systems including 3M and Sensormatic. The system also works with RFID tags. Communication with your library system is through SIP2 or Z39.70, and links are in place with all leading library management system suppliers.
