The Codeco conversion station is used to program RFID tags on new or existing library media.

The programming of the RFID tags will normally follow the Codeco data model.

Codeco normally uses tags with Phillips I-Code SLI 1k ISO15693 chips, but the conversion station can handle all ISO18000-3 compliant chips.

In the case where combined or multiple media are being programmed, Codeco's data model includes the possibility to program information into all tags, explaining what type of media the package consists of i.e.1 book + 3 CD's. This enables the system to give the user guidance, i.e.:"1 CD is missing", in case an item is missing when checking in or out. The content of these predefined packages can be defined by the library staff.

The user can also define whether the tag shall be activated (EAS / AFI active) for security when being programmed.
