The second generation Telepen Access Control Interface Module (TACIM2) is a state of the art PCB that has been developed by SB Electronic Systems to manage barrier operation. The options available enable the Module to be used in a wide variety of other applications requiring card input, communication with a database, and potential control of a lock or similar.
Product Features :

The TACIM2 can receive data from a variety of ID recognition devices such as slot readers, bar code readers, RF tag readers, smart card readers and PIN keypads. The standard barcode reader is an imaging system allowing the capture of both 1D and 2D barcodes.
Messages can be presented by TACIM2 for display on the bright VFD graphic display.
TACIM2 offers our users the unique capability of off-line operation. In on-line mode the TACIM2 works as a 'slave' to the decision-making host system. Should the link with the host be lost for any reason, TACIM2 will automatically switch to off-line mode. This will enable the barrier to continue to operate within pre-programmed security parameters held by the TACIM2. These security parameters can be both global and specific, and can be updated automatically on a regular basis. An example of a global parameter might be to allow only a certain format of ID number to be allowed access. Specific parameters would perhaps include a list of excluded ID numbers.
Transactions that take place during off-line mode are time-stamped and held within TACIM2. As soon as the host system link is re-established, all off-line transactions are automatically uploaded to the host and on-line operation is resumed. This ensures continuity and accuracy of all transaction information.
Communication with the host system can be by RS485 cable, Local Area Network, IRDA or WiFi.
