Ticketing Software

See Tickets sell tickets online and the customer prints their ticket at home. The ticket includes a unique barcode identifying that transaction. The ticket data is automatically transferred to our database where it is held pending a validation transaction from a portable scanner. The system utilises the Telescan2 portable scanner which has an RF link to the database.

When a ticket is presented by a customer at the gate, the Telescan2 checks whether this ticket has been used. If it hasn't been used, then the Telescan2 displays a "Valid Ticket" message. If the ticket has been used, the Telescan2 displays "Ticket Already Used", and will not allow another scan until the user has pressed a confirmation button. The database contains personal details such as the name and postcode of the person who booked the ticket so that a valid ticket-holder can be differentiated from a fraudulent ticket-holder.
